The Chronicon is a year-by-year chronicle of the early history of the Society of Jesus, covering 1537 to 1556. Dictated by Fr. Juan Alfonso de Polanco, secretary to the Society’s first three superior generals, between 1573 and 1575 in Rome, it was intended as a comprehensive and chronological record of significant events.
