The Chronicon is a year-by-year chronicle of the early history of the Society of Jesus, covering 1537 to 1556. Dictated by Fr. Juan Alfonso de Polanco, secretary to the Society’s first three superior generals, between 1573 and 1575 in Rome, it was intended as a comprehensive and chronological record of significant events. Explore the six volumes translated by Fr. Kenneth Baker, S.J.

The editorial oversight of the Jesuit Online Bibliography is a collaborative effort. If you want to suggest any edits to the OCR of the original Latin text, please email us at iajs@bc.edu
